Luigi Chinetti, teamed with Lord Selsdon, won the 1949 24 heures du Mans at the wheel of a Ferrari 166 MM "Barchetta". It was the first of 9 wins for Ferrari at the famous race. My art is based on a photo by Louis Klemantaski.

1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale

I started live-sketching this at the 2023 Lime Rock Historic Festival, where I got the basic lines down in pencil; a few weeks ago, I finally finished it.

The 33 Stradale was a "street" development of the T33/2 race car and is a lovely example of high-level Italian design, the "haute couture" of cars, so revered that a new, very limited modern version has appeared:

Frankly, I drooled over the 33 Stradale in online photos, but seeing one in person reaffirms the idea of truly Italian design language ... giving life to a seemingly simple object, it's a statement of culture ... WOW!
